September ’14 to August ‘15 Brainfood Program Associate Taught an after-school program for D.C. high school students designed to build leadership and life skills through cooking classes. Wrote lesson plans, created posters and researched topics on food/youth development/ environmental sustainability/ nutrition. Co-taught a summer camp-style cooking program for D.C. high school students. Managed site budget for both programs and responsible for food/recipes for each class. Updated and maintained Brainfood website using Drupal platform. Managed Instagram account and created best practices documents. BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY ADMISSION OFFICE, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania September ’13 to September ‘14 Admissions Intern Conducted introductory information sessions for prospective students visiting campus and answered questions for prospective students and their families upon their return from tours. Reviewed admission applications, graded them and provided feedback to admissions officers. Traveled to college fairs and represented the University to prospective students and their parents. Planned and executed hall events to foster unity and bonding amongst hall mates. Collaborated with other residential advisors to plan building wide events. Attended weekly team meetings to discuss the safety of our building, concerns and successes with students, and ways to improve our leadership skills. Sat on diversity committee for all residential advisors. Our team was successful in creating gender neutral bathrooms across the campus and began dialogues about making our school more accessible for students with disabilities. EDUCATION BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY Expected Spring ‘16 B.A. in Environmental Studies HONORS POSSE DC Scholar: POSSE is a nonprofit organization that identifies, recruits, and trains student leaders from public high schools to form multi-racial/cultural teams called "Posses" of 10 to 12 Posse Scholars. Posses are expected to become leaders in the university community and to provide a support system for one another to assure that each person is successful in their own way. I was a recipient of the Kenneth G. Langone Scholarship, awarded to students who have evidenced high integrity, loyalty, and steadfast determination in their daily lives. The Langone scholarship was a full tuition scholarship earned as a result of my being a POSSE Scholar. LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Operation Understanding D.C. (OUDC) facilitator: OUDC is a non profit organization whose mission is to build a generation of African American and Jewish community leaders who promote respect, understanding and cooperation while working to eradicate racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination.
