Hi, I'm Micah, and I believe that an excellent tutor is one who motivates and inspires their students to do well. A teacher has a great responsibility to impact their students positively. I believe that when a child is inspired and motivated, they will create goals and dreams and develop a drive to achieve them.In 2009, I spent three weeks in San Juan, Argentina, doing community service with the San Cayetano Community Center. I had the opportunity to work with twenty native children each day. I was in charge of dividing and distributing their breakfast, preparing them lunch, and teaching them English. The ages of these children ranged from three to sixteen years old. None of the children had known any English before my team arrived. Although this was challenging, it was also rewarding to get to know them and teach them our language. I believe that in my short three weeks with these kids, I inspired them to explore the English language and opened them up to want to learn more about the world around them.I believe that you can encourage children to want to learn any subject. My experience in the San Cayetano Community Center was unique and I feel blessed to have been able to take part in such a rewarding program. I came out of that experience with a feeling of wanting more. I want to connect with children from all around the world and use my knowledge to help them succeed. I want to contribute to their wellbeing and success, to ensure that they go on to embrace and succeed in reaching their goals.
