I am a tutor with vast experience working in education. I have taught students of different ages, ranging from kindergarten-aged students to college-aged students. I have the skill set to tutor students in a variety of subject areas, including English as a second language, reading, writing, essay editing, phonics, grammar, essay writing, American history, European history, AP United States history, AP United States government, social studies, and English. My own educational background is diverse: I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in history, a master's degree from Harvard University in government, and a master's degree from American University in education. I have taught various subjects in several states, including Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. I currently reside in Silver Spring, Maryland. I specialize in providing differential instruction for students, as I believe that all students are capable of learning given sufficient encouragement, instruction that meets their learning needs, and instructors that take the time to ensure that the students have mastered the content. My professional history of working as a school administrator, resource room instructor, inclusion teacher, and classroom teacher has given me extensive experience in teaching to different needs. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, riding my bike, and traveling.
