I have a BS in biomedical engineering from Duke University and a PhD in biomedical engineering from The University of Virginia.
Experience
Along with having an PhD from a top biomedical engineering program, I've tutored 6th through 12th graders in math and science for more than seven years. I also TA'ed UVA's senior capstone course for a year. I understand that different students have different ways of learning, and I tailor my approach to the needs of the student. I always stress proper thought processes and approaches to problems over just memorizing the correct answers. Beyond my work with academic tutoring, I've been a CrossFit trainer for 4 years, I teach medical executives at my day job, and I create instructional videos for an internet start-up company.
