Taught Introduction to Psychology (100 level class) and History & Issues of Psychology (400 level class) for 2 semesters each in 2010-2011. I taught at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, my alma mater. I enjoy helping others to enjoy psychology - to see the connections between us as humans. I specialized in general clinical psychology, but have taken courses in geropsychology, psychology and civil law, and child/adolescent forensic psychology. I completed an APA accredited internship at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, NC. I have supervised hours providing assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy. I worked in one of 24 Deaf mental health units in the country.

Hobbies

I enjoy many things including cooking, baking, knitting, and canning. I used to spend a good portion of my summer canning tomatoes, salsa, jams and jellies for my family. I am from the area and enjoy going to the Smithsonian museums, as I did growing up. I am a life-long learner and am always trying to learn something new every day. I love trivia and watching Jeopardy.
